The Victory Hat is a simple, crocheted, hand spun, wool hat. It is embellished with bobbles and lines which are also crocheted, but you could embroider these same stitches. The embellishment consists of one basic stitch. The bobble is three or more stitches (depending upon the thickness of your yarn) double crochet stitches. It is achieved by hooking the fabric of the hat and bringing through the contrasting colour in the form of a double crochet stitch, THREE times. Then anchor the ends by bringing them back to the wrong side of the work and tying them together in a knot. The line is created by using the fabric of the hat and hooking it for each double crochet stitch then securing in the same way as the bobble. The shapes and icons for you to explore using this technique are endless. Have fun and show me your work @patondaughter Instagram.
